About Us

Charlottesville Roller Derby (CRD; formerly Charlottesville Derby Dames) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit flat-track roller derby organization that promotes sportsmanship and community by providing an alternative form of fitness and entertainment to the city of Charlottesville and surrounding counties. We believe every person has a place within our league, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability (including athletic or skating), culture, language, socioeconomic status, marital status, or philosophical beliefs.

We strive to welcome people from all walks of life and appreciate and support everyone who is either a CRD member or interacts with CRD in a public setting. We do not accept any expression of intolerance or hate toward another person at any of our CRD-sponsored events. CRD is dedicated to embracing diversity, celebrating differences, and finding beauty in our uniqueness.

CRD is a founding member of the Virginia Roller Derby Network (VDRN) and a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
